| ENTRY
QUALIFICATIONS
All amateur golfers with an established USGA Slope Handicap
or equivalent 18-hole handicap are eligible. The deadline
for tournament entries is June 1, 2006. Remember entering
early guarantees your spot.
DIVISIONS / FLIGHTS
The tournament field will consist of four divisions. Men (under
55), Senior Men (55-65), Super Senior Men (65+) and Women.
Men and Women may choose to play in their division or the
age groups below them. The divisions are further divided into
flights of players with similar handicap indexes. Players
competing within their flights in computer-assigned foursomes
for the three days of regulation play. The handicaps of each
flight will depend on the number of entrants.
COURSE ASSIGNMENTS / REGISTRATION
Ocean City Golf Club (Newport Bay), River Run, Rum Pointe
and Links at Lighthouse Sound (championship
site) will host the tournament. Each flight will be assigned
to a different course for each day's play. Final course assignments
and daily starting times will be distributed during the scheduled
registration on Sunday, June 11th. All contestants must have
their CURRENT handicap card at the time of registration.
CADDIE
POLICY
Players are required to ride in a cart that will be assigned
to them. No caddies will be permitted.
ACCOMMODATIONS / TRANSPORTATION
Participants are responsible for their own accommodations
and all transportation. You may call Ocean City Golf Getaway
at 1-800-4OC-GOLF to schedule discounted accommodations with
convenient lodging facilities to the golf courses.
REGISTRATION
All confirmed entrants are required to register at The Links
at Lighthouse Sound championship host site golf course (12723
St. Martin's Neck Road, Bishopville, MD).
PRIZES/AWARDS
Each flight will receive elegant golf awards and prizes.
REFUNDS
Full refunds will be provided for cancellations received in
writing addressed to Ocean City Amateur Classic at Ocean City
Golf Getaway, 9935 Stephen Decatur Highway, Unit 141, Ocean
City, Maryland 21842 or faxed to 410-213-7058 by 4:30pm, EST
June 1, 2006. Cancellations received before the close of registration
at 7:00pm, June 1, 2006 will be refunded $100. No refunds,
regardless of circumstance, will be provided after June 1,
2006. All cancellations and refund requests must be submitted
in writing. Please allow four weeks for the processing of
refund requests. Participants may want to consider purchasing
trip insurance if any doubt as to attendance exists.
RULES OF PLAY
The USGA Rules of Golf will govern play. Local rules at each
course will apply. The rules committee will resolve all disputes
regarding any aspect of tournament play. The decisions of
the Rules Committee are final.
NON-METAL SPIKE POLICY
Tournament requires all golfers to use shoes equipped with
non-metal or other non-metal spike alternatives.
CANCELLATION POLICY
No refunds or exchanges will be made if the tournament is
canceled or shortened due to weather nature or act of God.
